Like any other games there are sets of rules in touch football that are applicable. But they vary heavily depending on the type of game. Also the Australian touch football rules differ from that of the American ones.

In Australian touch football what you need is a large, grassy playing field, two teams of six players each. From one to six players can act as substitutes in Australian touch football apart from the six playing ones. Each of teams in this sport has different players who act as the quarterback, the running backs, the receivers and the line players.

The playing field is rectangular in shape and is almost half the size of a rugby league field. The onside is five meters only compared to the same of rugby league field, which are ten meters. The field has two end zones at each end. Anything outside the playing area is out of bounds.

The ball is placed in the middle of the field. A single game of touch football lasts for forty minutes. There are actually two halves of 20 minutes each.

The game of touch football is extremely popular amongst the students. The students' touch football rules are quite different from the professional ones. The game has two periods of thirty plays each.

The field of play is a rectangular level surface with dimensions of 90 yards in length by 40 yards in width. There is one midfield stripe, two stripes at the thirty - yard mark, and two stripes at the ten - yard mark which are the goal lines.

The game begins with a free kick.  Possession of the ball is determined prior to the free kick by a coin toss. Coed touch football is a fun recreational touch football league. The co ed touch football are simple. Its 8 on 8, 5 men and 3 women on the field. It's a no contact game, just two hand touch is allowed. A woman must be a Primary Player on a play within 3 consecutive plays

The touch football safety rules that you must follow while playing are participating in pre-season training, before playing in competitive games. Wear appropriate protective equipment, such as a mouth guard.
